Home Sweet Home: Casa Laguna

I just moved into the most amazing building!  It's called Casa Laguna and it was built in 1928 by Arthur and Nina Zwebell; a husband and wife architectural team known for their innovation in the design of courtyard apartments in Southern California.  Casa Laguna, along with several other of their remaining buildings, is part of the National Register of Historic Places.

I am still in the process of decorating my unit but once I've gotten my stuff together and looking lovely I will post some pictures of my apartment!

Young Stormtroopers In Love

What better way to start the week than with pictures of Stormtroopers in love?

Young Stormtroopers In Love is a Flickr account full of hundreds of Star Wars-themed photos taken by husband-and-wife team Red and Jonny Evans.

These two lovebirds put on their Stormtrooper helmets and go everywhere from the grocery store to the dentist to the beach to Niagara Falls! Both Red and Jonny are artists and began the project years ago just for fun.  The result is an entertaining, interesting, charming, and quirky body of work that I find to be totally inspiring!

Echocell "Babylon" Music Video

If you've followed my blog for a bit then you know how much I love the clothing line, Bel Kazan.  The designer of that line, and my good friend Belinda Kazanci, is also the lead singer of a band called Echocell.  I've had the pleasure of seeing them perform live and I am a huge fan!  Recently, they released a video for their new single, "Babylon."  Not only do I love the song, BUT I'm obsessed with the incredible wardrobe!

LAMILL Tea Time

I love tea time in the afternoon.  A cup of hot tea and a bite of something sweet always makes my day!  My absolute favorite tea is from LAMILL.  They really make the most delicious loose teas and  I have not found anything else as good.  You don't need any extra flavor, no sugar, no honey, no milk.  As you can see above their ingredients are incredible.  These teas are almost too beautiful to drink... almost!

Since it's Throwback Thursday I felt inspired to relive one of my favorite photography exhibitions from my absolute favorite photographer... Ashes and Snow by Gregory Colbert.  This body of work is one of the most moving and inspirational that I have ever seen!  I had the pleasure of viewing the exhibit when it came to Santa Monica in 2006.  I have a book and DVD that I bought at the time, and that I have treasured ever since.  I often flip through the pages and get lost in the images as well as the memory of standing among the larger than life originals.
